The Myofascial Release Treatment Center of San Francisco is an outpatient therapy clinic founded by John F. Barnes’ son Brian Barnes. The Myofascial Release Treatment Center of San Francisco specializes in the evaluation and Myofascial treatment of low back pain, acute and chronic injury, post-surgical scar tissue, pain and restriction including mastectomy patients and reconstruction, shoulder and hip pain, and patients with a history of complex and cumulative symptoms.

Patients positive outcomes occur from a treatment approach which creates a body "now ready for success" in conjunction with a home program using our online software called Tx Xchange, Myofascial Release self treatment, core strength and simple yoga.

The Myofascial Release Treatment Center of San Francisco is situated in a beautiful, historic Victorian home, the "Painted Lady" in one of the cities most beautiful neighborhoods. About the Therapists

Brian J. Barnes, RMT, MTH
Prior to opening his own clinic in San Francisco, CA, Brian was the director of Therapy on the Rocks in Sedona Arizona and taught Myofascial Release courses for 15 years both nationally and internationally.

Brian has been a therapist utilizing Myofascial Release for over 25 years. He has built his practice and reputation through his expert ability to evaluate and treat cumulative injury and complex symptoms, and to assist his clients to realize and achieve relief, recovery and restored purpose.

Brian has a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Psychology as well as Diaconal Studies, and received his Master’s in Theology from the University of San Francisco. Brian is committed to social justice for the marginalized, works as a chaplain at San Francisco General Hospital and has taught Myofascial Release to the therapists treating the suffering woman and children of the Congo, Africa.

Jessica O’Brien-Ferrés, BA, LMT
Jessica O’Brien- Ferrés, specializes in recovery from acute and chronic injury and pain, helping people to fully realize and relive an active lifestyle. Jessica uses a combination of Myofascial Release, core strength training techniques and simple yoga to relieve her clients of chronic pain. She is also uniquely gifted and talented in her work with children and young adults who are injured and hurting.

Jessica’s early education includes a BA from Minnesota State University - Mankato. Jessica is EMT certified and worked as an athletic trainer for Minnesota State High School students before completing Massage Therapy training at Center Point Massage & Shiatsu Therapy & Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a trainer and therapist, Jessica has worked with the elite competitors of the Twin Cities Marathon.

Jessica has been practicing Massage Therapy full time since 2002, and has been fully trained by both Brian J. Barnes and his father, John F. Barnes. Jessica became a key component to Brian Barnes’ own recovery from a severe back injuries and surgery and is a valued associate. After years of running marathons, Jessica achieved personal success with comprehensive treatment of her own injury exclusively through the Myofascial Release techniques and approach.

In her personal life, Jessica enjoys eco-friendly adventure, trail running and cooking. She has lived and worked in Africa where she grew to love foreign travel & language study. Currently she enjoys the San Francisco art and live music scene.
